Better on Quieter Nights
I decided to drop by Satin Dolls for a drink and some dances recently as I passed by after a long workday. The place went through a very modest renovation (front doors all replaced and some of the inside touched up) I believe in connection to a change in ownership recently. For those unfamiliar, this is as bare bones as a strip club gets in Manhattan — it’s right next to Port Authority near Times Square in a pretty high traffic area.
The inside has a small bar as soon as you step in before the one room with a stage / lap dance. Cover was $20 when I went in, though I’ve heard it’s usually $30 most days of the week. There were probably only 6 or 7 PLs total and maybe 10-12 dancers floating around, so much easier to get attention vs other Manhattan clubs. I grabbed a beer ($12) once I went inside and was immediately greeted by two dancers — an older Brazilian one and a younger, busty AA lady. Both were attractive and not pushy about a dance at all which I appreciated. In general would say the average dancer was pretty attractive on this night everywhere I looked with a variety of ethnicities.
I ended up doing floor dances ($20) with both and then took one to the 15 minute private room. Dances all decently high contact with a good grind despite it being on the floor. They both promised a good time if we made it to the upstairs VIP but I didn’t have the time and it was a bit too pricey ($550 for upstairs VIP for 30 min and $800 for an hour). One thing I like about this place is that it has an intermediate VIP option for 15 min that was $175. Other NYC clubs (FD/Sapphire) almost require you to be out like $1K+ if you want to go VIP for an hour with no shorter or cost effective option.
