Largely Unchanged from Deja Vu
Setting: Babe's Showgirls opened a few months ago. Before that, it was Deja Vu. Everything about Babe's seemed very much the same as Deja Vu with 4 exceptions. 1) Three new plush red sofas with high backs were placed against the west wall (nearest the entrance). 2) The LED sign displaying the names of the dancers was gone. 3) The TVs are playing rotating images saying "Support single moms," "Anatomy 101," or "We have streams of milk" instead of being on TV shows. 4) All but 1 of the dancers seem new.
Entry is still $20 plus an ID scan. When you enter, rest rooms are to the left, spacious and in good repair. The bar is to the left and sells soda and juice but customers can bring in alcohol. Straight ahead is the stage which has 2 poles and a high black ceiling. There are about 18 chairs around the stage. Small tables and chairs are placed all around the rest of the space. Private dance booth entry is in back and to the left.
There are 2 ATM's, which charge a $10 withdrawal fee.
Action : They open at 9 pm daily. There were 2 other customers upon my arrival at 9:00, rising to 3-4 at times, and there were 5 by the time I left at 11:10. A DJ introduced the dancers by name, although the acoustics of the overhead speakers were a bit fuzzy. The music was moderately loud. It was standard urban rap- hip hop. There was a spinning ball casting multicolored lights on the ceiling but there are no lasers or strobes.
