Not bad, nothing memorable either

Mermaids is in a safe area a couple blocks away from the subway. They don’t open until 10pm but I would not recommend going that early. It was completely dead until midnight. Cover was $20 when I got there around 11pm. They pat you down before entry. At 11pm, there were only a couple dancers and they don’t always go on stage. It does not get busier until 2am. About 10 bartenders spread out inside a rectangular bar. Beers were $12. Small vip section in the back and sides.

The bartenders were very attractive and they will dance behind the bar for tips. This is very much a throwing singles type of club. They also are happy to chat with you if you’re buying them drinks, especially bottles. I got a few dances from a thick Dominican dancer barside, just tipping singles. Bought her a drink. Very two way hands on dances. Nothing too crazy but maybe Sunday night isn’t the best day. Will check it out again on a Friday.
