Who knew coffee shops could be fun!
These Vietnamese coffee shops are a hidden gem in the Bay Area! Apparently the locals know them all too well, but I as a frequent visitor to the Bay Area had absolutely no clue about them till I discovered them randomly in an obscure reddit thread. I was in the area the past couple weeks so I decided to give this one a go this Tuesday. These coffee places function quite differently from regular strip clubs, so I will try my best to explain it, albeit as a newbie I might miss something (more experienced mongers please correct me if I'm wrong).
The shop itself is located on a strip mall and the parking was plenty. The room is small and tables were put together a bit too closely for my liking, and was a bit stuffy overall. Fortunately there weren't too many people, and they weren't too seedy so it was not too bad overall. I walked in and got myself a coffee for 10 (which is mandatory per my understanding and is sort of like a gate fee).
There were 4-5 waitresses working, all of them pretty hot and scantily dresses, leaving nothing to the imagination. All were Latinas, except for one as far as I could tell. A couple of them were just browsing their phones while the others were busy chatting with other customers (probably their regulars). The difficult part for me was getting their attention, and I was not sure if was supposed to be doing something differently. Eventually a hot curvy Latina (late 20s-early 30s) walked by my table and I managed to get her attention. She soon dropped by and we chatted a bit. She was quite friendly but the convo was fairly basic. She offered an LD and i asked her how exactly it worked here as I was new to this coffee scene. She was very friendly about explaining it. It was 30 per song, which I felt was a bit steep, but the plus side was that touching was allowed (everywhere except down south).
