I went to Bar Sex Appeal at 01:15 on a Tuesday night. The entrance is just an open doorway on Saint-Catherine Street leading to a staircase. You walk down seventeen steps into a basement. There was a $12 cover charge paid to a bouncer. The front of the room has a three-sided bar. There is a small stage on the left wall with two poles that are connected with a crossbar. The restrooms and lap dance booths are in the right wall. There is a DJ booth near the entrance. The music was mostly hip hop and extremely loud. It was hard to communicate with a dancer that was sitting right next to me. A smoke machine is also occasionally employed. The bartenders were very attractive. The bar only stocks Molson-Coors products; to my dismay Budweiser and Labatt were not available. I drank bottles of Colorado Cool-Aid (Coors Light) for $8.25 each. Import beers (Mexican/European) were $9.50 each. Jager Bombs were $8 each. The prices are the same if you are buying drinks for dancers.

There were eleven dancers working. It was a mixed bag of white, black, Asian, and Middle Eastern ladies who mostly seemed to be in their early or mid-twenties. Most were in shape. The stage was put to use about half of the time I was there. One slim brunette dancer put on such an energetic show with pole tricks that I had to remind myself I was not at the Cirque du Soleil show at the Grand Chapiteau. Nobody tipped the stage, and you have to use $5 bills if you do choose to tip. The stage show here is like advertising for the dancer. Dancers make their bank from selling private dances.

Nude private dances are $20 per song. Before going back for the first time, a $10 wristband needs to be purchased from the DJ/manager. There were about eight or ten booths for private dances. Each one had a bench that was less than a meter wide and had a white curtain blocking its opening for privacy. Two-way contact is allowed as long as you keep your paws away from the dancers’ pussies. I got five enjoyable private dances with Anastasia. She was a redhead with brown eyes from Saskatchewan.
