Cheeky stop in at Rosewood.
Back in New York for long weekend, 40th Birthday celebration for a mate. A few of us peeled off from the main group to head into Rosewood. Dinner at Hudson Yards, so a short walk across. Otherwise its in a bit of a no man's land. It is still a staging area for Central Park horses, so the street did smell a bit as we approached. Offered a $100 VIP wrist brand on arrival. As this wasn't my first rodeo at Rosewood I declined.
So the layout remains the same as ever, bar along the back wall with a smallish stage at the other end and seating in between. As others have commented, the place is kind of losing its amateur/girl next-door vibe. Fewer native English speaking girls than ever before, noticeably so. Girls are still approachable, but the conversations feel more forced or strip club like than years gone by. The Cubans are definitely finding their way into Rosewood.
There is a heighten hustle vibe. Dances are still $20 a pop, but you really have to commit to at least 4 or 5 dances if you want to have any "hands on" type of experience. Sent a good 30-minutes with an Eastern European spinner, I think she said Ukraine, but could have been Russia. I think just still programmed to say Ukraine in the current political climate. A lot of eye contact and a good grind, but the expectation that your hands can wander free that used to be a feature of Rosewood isn't really there anymore. She did mention the VIP wristband which would allow us entry into the private room, but it was made very clear that the dance would pretty much be the same, just without preying eyes. So I passed. It was however apparent that OTC meet ups can happen, but with the sugar daddy expectation.
