Sunday at Mint
I visited Mint lounge last Sunday at around 6:30pm. I arrived by Uber, so not sure if they charge to park. The security guard patted me down outside of the club before letting me in. No cover charge at the time and when I went inside it was packed with most of the seats at the bar occupied. This is another small club with the bars seating pretty much the only option. I was able to grab an open seat, and the bartender let me know that I caught the tail end of their happy hour. I initially ordered a D'Ussé, but the bartender told me that that wasn’t included in the happy hour deals, but Hennessy was ($6), so I went with that instead. I was approached by a dancer with a nice rack who offered to dance for me. She said that the dances were $5 per song during the happy hour, so I said why not. All of the dances at this place take place right at the bar, no privates here. The DJ was playing mostly old school r&b initially which was a nice change of pace, and the dancer seemed to be into it giving a nice slow grind and encouraging my hands to roam. I got about 10 dances with the first girl, but by the time that we stopped the happy hour was over.
Drinks went up to $12 for my Henny and the dance prices were now $10 per song. The DJ also switched from playing r&b to rap. There was a shift change with new bartenders and some of the dancers leaving with others arriving (there were 15-20 total all AA). There was a noticeable change in the vibe once the happy hour ended, and a lot of the patrons headed for the exit. The night shift bartenders were really pretty with incredible bodies and if they were dancers, they would have been the best of the bunch by far. Game 3 of the Knicks/Pacers series was starting, so I was watching it in between watching the dancers. The big stage inside the bar was occupied most of the time with dancers doing sets of about 5 songs. The nudity level and enthusiasm of the stage set varied by dancer with some being more into it than others. A younger crowd of patrons came in with some making it rain on some of the girls during their stage sets. I got dances from a couple other dancers, but I noticed that the younger night shift dancers weren’t as interested in giving dances as the older vets that were out on the floor during the happy hour. I definitely noticed the difference and will make it a point to arrive earlier if I visit this spot next time I’m in town.
