DV8: Come with low expectations and be surprised

Having been to DV8 several times over the years there is something about this spot that keeps drawing me back. On any given shift there are 6-12 girls ranging in looks from about average to outright gorgeous, although that's very subjective. Body types are also across the board, short to tall, from busty-thick to the girl next-door types and petite gymnasts with rock solid abs. The club is about as diverse as Portland, mostly white dancers with the occasional African American, Asian or Latina mixed in. There's usually something for everyone. The look is usually very "Portland", lots of tats, dyed hair etc. but the ladies seem to have a lot less plastic then other clubs so extra points if you like them natural. Most are very friendly and will chat you up (I think that's because I'm especially handsome lol), rarely some will have an attitude but we all have bad days. It's a very rare visit where there isn't at least one girl that gets the blood pumping. They post on their instagram regularly if you want a peek at who's who.

The venue itself is a pure dive bar. Lots of stuff is held together with tape and feels crusty or outright filthy but that's part of the charm. I feel comfortable knowing I'm not in some spot that's going to push a $400 champagne room or overpriced bottle service because the bathroom smells like piss and the bar itself is probably older than I am. If you expect anything luxurious there are plenty of spots that will happily fleece your money but this is not it.

When you enter you will see an anteroom with pool tables and video lottery. Hook a right and the bar hugs the north wall with the main stage in the center. A second stage is found past the bar and first stage but it isn't really used unless it's later at night or there are enough dancers to work both. The private dance area is just past the second stage and is made of three overstuffed couches behind surprisingly thick curtains so there is actually 'some' privacy. Girls pick their music and the djs are very professional and keep the show going, honestly you'll forget they were even there. The overall atmosphere is of a dimly lit dive bar with lots of red and purple lights that make the place feel dark and even a little cozy. There's even a gas fire place for whatever reason.
