I had an after-work event in the area, so I decided to take a quidk detour to Playhouse Lounge on my way home. The club is easy to get to off Rt. 130 - you have to watch out for the divided highway and if you're coming from the south, you have to drive a short distance past the restaurant and U-turn at the neighboring car dealer. The building is a pink rectangle with a huge sign and large paved/lined parking lot - you can't miss it.

The door from the outdoors to the vestibule looks like the one on my grandmother's porch in the 1980s. Once inside, there is a large rectangular bar with two elevated stages with poles, one at each end. They used to have a bouncer taking the $10 cover at night, but that was not the case this evening (I arrived around 6:45 or 7:00). Instead, you sit at the bar and the bartender (female) takes your $10 and gives you a water or other non-alcoholic drink. Playhouse is BYOB and I know that guys sometimes bring their own, which is kept chilled and served to you, but I have never spent enough time there to need that, nor would I want to go through the aggravation of getting beer elsewhere and bringing it in.

Music wasn't too loud to have conversations. This time of day, I believe I was firmly in the evening shift, which has a reputation for cuter/younger dancers who provide less mileage than the dayshift veterans do. I hadn't been to the club in the evening in a while, though, and it was convenient to where I was traveling.
