Not Great, But Much Better Than Expected
Having read some mediocre reviews of the West Palm Beach clubs, and having been spoiled by Broward clubs, I didn’t have very high expectations for Cheetah West Palm. However, a friend’s rerouted flight to PBI found me in West Palm with about two hours to kill, and this resulted in a decent first time visit to Cheetah West Palm Beach.
The club can be a little hard to find. It is in an industrial type area, adjacent to auto repair shops, between run down residences and Okeechobee Blvd. It is a small, single story building with a fenced parking lot. Walking in at 4:00 pm, there was a $1 cover, a request for a tip, no ID check, and no pat down. From the entry foyer, you walk right in to the main floor, and the main bar surrounding a dancer stage is right in front of you. To the right are two more smaller stages, and a smaller bar tucked off to the right side. They had dancers on two of the 3 stages this afternoon, and the blonde bartender at the main bar was clearly the best looking girl in the building. I did not order any food, and I did not use the restroom, so I cannot report on these amenities.
I ordered a $5 domestic beer, and took a seat along the wall opposite the entrance, where I could survey the landscape. Being a Friday afternoon, the crowd was mostly working guys - all white or Latino, with a couple of geezers (like 80+, one dude with a walker - impressive!). It was not a party crowd, really kind of low key. Very few dances were being bought - I may have been the only one taking girls to the back.
