Laid back Thursday night

As part of my visiting tour of the clubs of Providence I decided to visit Rhode Island Dolls on a Thursday night. Coming from the airport area I had to drive past many of the other options which made me question whether this was the right choice, but I drove on. There is a lot of road construction going on along the way and the club is in an odd location. Seems mostly residential and the building itself from the outside doesn't give off club vibes, but there is plenty of parking with most of it empty on the night of my visit.

I got to the club a little later than I planned, closer to 10pm, but they are open until 1pm. (Lesson learned don't need to buy gas in the area at 1pm. It took three tries to find an open gas station.) Cover was $10 and they did scan my ID. After the guy covering the door wasn't there, but I was polite and waited for him to come over. Inside the club looks decent. Lots of mirrors on the walls and behind the bar. As you walk in there's a men's bathroom on the left, the bar straight ahead and the main stage on the far right. There is a smaller stage on the far left that occasionally was in use. Seating is spread out all in the middle of the room. Private dances take place down a steep flight of stairs and there is a board with pricing listed with separate columns for topless vs nude. There is a wall of booths with curtains which I guess are VIP and some seats with dividers in between for the (not really) private dances. I stuck to the $30/song topless for my visit.

I got my $3 bottled water from the server walking around and grabbed a seat. There is a massage girl who offers massages (I was told $20) which last about two songs. There were nine dancers I saw and I was there long enough to see them rotate all the way through. They would do three song sets and most were topless by the second song, but none ever got nude on stage. Dancers were not pushy for dances and most sat and talked for quite a while before asking if I had any interest in a dance or VIP. Some never did ask. Maybe because it was a Thursday night, but it seemed very laid back. These are my best guesses at the names because sometimes the dj is just indecipherable.
