An unknown legend from youth really is a great institution

Growing up in Philadelphia, Lou Turks was a legend. As teenagers we wanted to go there because it was the only strip club we'd heard about. I moved from Philly as a young adult and never did go there. However, I was in Philly the day after Christmas and stayed at a hotel near the airport. On the way to the hotel, I drove past Lou Turks. I didn't realize where it is. After checking in I drove there around 11PM.

Walking in the club, there's a main bar with a stage and pole in the middle. There are a number of tables and a DJ towards the back. On this night, there were about 10 dancers and an equal number of patrons. The atmosphere was quiet. The dancers did two songs each, one dressed and one topless. The dancers also wore nipple tape. Each dancer did their songs and then the tip parade, generally with their breasts recovered. The dancers were a mix of white, black, hispanic and one asian. Most offered private dances for $35 and VIP rooms starting aroung $150 plus tips. One dancer, a tall black woman with sizable real breasts interested me and we did a private. It was nice and she indicated extra would be available in the VIP rooms. I was intrigued but not quite prepared to take that plunge. I don't drink alcohol when I'm driving so a bottle of water was $6.00. Overall I enjoyed myself. i think it would be a great place to watch Philly sports and get some dances. So a youthful fantasy turned out to be okay and I would go back on a night that was not just after a holiday.
