Bye Bye So Long!
Mickey's first day under new management (Karraz family) begins today - 12/11/24. While it remains to be seen what new management means for this club, a mediocre start would be an improvement over what the McDermott family has done with the club in the last 18 months.
As of yesterday's visit, Mickey's remains open day and night from Tuesday to Saturday (12 noon to 1 AM). If a night shift is slow, the club is prone to close early on those occasions. Business has been so good recently, that they closed down on a recent Saturday night (unrelated to a holiday). My 12oz can of Miller Lite was still $6 a piece on this visit, and I'm sure mixed drinks were still $8 for the 8oz clear plastic cup.
The appeal of Mickey's for the customer has always been the $20 poker chip that gets you 5 minute increments of entertainment in one of the 4 booths available. The booths typically offer moderate privacy for the customer and the entertainer. That privacy can be altered occasionally by management (playing with the dimmer). It must have been my imagination (only) that the lights went up while I was being entertained yesterday. There was no behavior that required altering on my trip to Mickey's confessional booths.
