I had wanted to visit Babe's for some time. I had Monday-morning business in Gadsden a couple of months ago, so I stopped by Babe's in Attalla the preceding Sunday night. Turns out they're closed on Sundays. I went back on Monday around noon on my way out of town and learned that dancing doesn't start until later in the afternoon. Basically, that whole trip was a bust.

I had a chance to go back to Gadsden a few weeks ago during the week, so I dropped by Babe's again during the evening hours. It was open, so I finally got a chance to see what the place was like. Inside is nothing to write home about. The place was clean, but dated and certainly nothing fancy. There's basically a bar, two pool table areas, a stage, a seating area, and an area in the back for "private" dances, which are done in semi-private wooden stalls.

I was surprised by the number of girls working that night, probably around eight. One was in her early 40s, a couple were in their 30s, and the rest were in their 20s, with some bordering on being teen-agers. Most were slender and petite, but a couple were slightly more buxom. Most of the girls rated a 6-7, but there was one tall, leggy blonde with large breasts that might rate an 8.
