A dull night at the rhino

I visited Spearmint Rhino Van Nuys last weekend, and unfortunately, it left a lot to be desired. The new rules are a major turnoff—dancers now ask you to sit on your hands during lap dances, which kills the vibe entirely.

Admission was $30, which included one drink, and dance prices were $30 for topless, $50 for nude, and $220 for 15 minutes in a private room. However, the lack of atmosphere made it hard to justify spending that kind of money.

The stage was empty most of the time, even though there were plenty of dancers on the floor just sitting around on their phones. On the rare occasions when someone performed, the audience tipped generously, so there’s no reason the stage should’ve been idle for 99% of the night.
