Good decision, and better luck next time
This review reflects a couple visits to this club over the last three months. Centerfolds sits at the edge of a bustling commercial area filled with restaurants, shops, dance clubs and other strip clubs. Since I prefer nude clubs with a minimum number of girls, this is the one of the best options in SF now that Mitchell Brothers has closed. If you drive to the club, parking can be an incredible challenge. There are two public parking garages at Vallejo and Powell (a few block from the club) that are open late, but my pro tip is to park off Broadway to the east and away from the dense commercial area.
I arrived around 9:30 pm, paid the $30 cover, and entered through the beaded curtain. The décor of club has been updated in the last few years. It is a brighter space now and feels classy. The main stage is to the right as you enter, a small “door stage” to the left, and another small “bar” stage across from the entrance. Behind the bar stage is… you guessed it, the bar. The bar is on an elevated section that includes additional seating and access to private rooms. There are more private rooms with beds on the lower level. Though the club is small, there are plenty of comfortable places to sit, with good views of the three stages.
I like to grab a water ($8 with ice) and find a place where I can see the girls rotate through the three stages. The dancers start at the Door Stage, move to the Bar Stage, and finish their rotation on the Main Stage. At each stage the girls perform to two songs and are topless by the end of the first song and are usually bottomless by the end of the second. At this club there is little down time between the performances. I really like this approach. A patron can sit by one of the stages, knowing that each dancer will eventually rotate through, or sit away from the stages and move to the main stage, where there are more seating options, if a particular girl strikes a fancy.
