I usually enjoy Rick’s, but this location is a little below their standard
Was in town for a quick weekend trip with the guys. Stopped by on a Saturday night around 11p. I’m not sure what part of town it was, but it was about a 20 minute Uber from River North.
Entered the lobby and greeted by a couple big bouncers who directed me to the hostess/cashier. They were charging $40 cover, which I thought was odd because in NYC and in Minneapolis cover at Rick’s is $20. Thought it was weird that The Chicago location was more expensive.
We were escorted into the main room which is just a really big rectangle. Kind of felt like a warehouse. It was very dark with pops of fluorescent lighting here and there. Hip hop was blasting through the PA. As you enter the floor is littered with small round tables, each with 2-3 of those big cushy lounge chairs packed around, which is typical of Rick’s decor. The bar is on the right and runs along the full long side of the room, but there weren’t any spots to post up because the full length of the bar was occupied with dancers chatting amongst each other and some customers.
