OK Place to Kill Time
Best way I can describe this place is to compare it to Tiffany’s Cabaret, which is about a mile away. Both are near the airport.. They are both no-extras clubs. That seems to be the case with Buffalo in general. Pricing structure for dances is similar, and favors 15 minute sessions for 90 minutes. I think the per dance rate at both is $35. Vodka tonic runs about $12 at both.
Beyond that, they are very different clubs. Some will like one more than the other. Some, like me, will like both and enjoy the differences. Pharoah’s is a huge club, set up almost like a theater with a large stage surrounded by stageside seating and a large number of tables, with a bar with maybe 15 stools back by the entrance. Tiffany’s, OTOH, is much smaller, small, low stage next to the bar and has a chill, neighborhood dive bar vibe. Everybody at Tiffany’s seems to know everybody else, but the bar staff and dancers are friendly towards newbies. I’ll elaborate on Tiffany’s in a future review.
I’ve been to Pharoah’s twice in the evening and twice in the afternoon. There are fewer dancers in the afternoon but also fewer patrons so there’s a better chance to get attention. Even in the evenings, the place seems empty because it is so large. Unless you’re tipping at the stage, best to sit at the bar, which is where the unattached dancers gravitate to.
