Busy Friday at the Strip
My last evening in the Detroit area I decided to drop into Landing Strip. Arrived around 10pm, dropped my car with the valet (required, $7) and paid the $20 cover. The place was busy and the bouncer informed me that the only option was to sit at the bar because all of the tables and booths were occupied. Even the bar was mostly full - I had to grab one of the tables along the side wall.
The club isn't especially big. One rectangular room with a stage running through it, loosely shaped like an airplane, with something like five poles along it. Dancers move from pole to pole, spending a total of five songs per stage set, most of them topless. To me the setup is a little crowded and it feels difficult to go between the tables to tip the dancers on stage with exception of the last station. (It probably isn't - that's just me.)
The club did a stage review shortly after I arrived where all the available dancers go on stage for a song and walk up and down the stage. A good opportunity to see the lineup. Probably around twenty in total, a mix of white, black and hispanic. More chunky girls than I would like to see but at least a few good looking ones that piqued my interest.
