Decent time, nothing special

Was staying in Chicago for a work trip and got into ohare later in the evening. Wanted to make it out to Polekatz but after checking into hotel near airport I realized it’s a bit of a hike to get there and gold room was only about 15-20 min uber. I actually called PK bc their website says free shuttles from ohare and they said they stopped that when uber became a thing… so website is only about 5-10 years out of date… hah.

Anyway I get to Gold room and it’s clear that it’s a sister club of PK. You enter and they make you check your jacket with front desk and then upon going into main room there’s the same stairs up and to the left to the “vip” area. Every time I’ve been to PK I’ve worn a button down shirt and got ushered up to VIP and GR was no different.

The interior has tall ceilings, lots of TVs (good for sports). One big stage on lower level with a pole and upper vip has a smaller pole/stage like at PK. Tonight there were no girls at the vip stage, but it was a quieter night. The main thing I didn’t like about GR atmosphere vs PK is that it had some smoke machine stuff going on… not really a fan of the haze.
