Fun Thursday Afternoon

The G Spot is one of my go-to dives whenever I’m in the Akron area. It’s definitely a hit-or-miss place, and I’ve been here a few times when it was a miss, but when it works, it works. And it worked pretty well recently.

I visited on a Thursday afternoon from 4:15-5:30. Lots of cars in the gravel lot (adjacent to the side entrance), but there were some spaces available and little likelihood of getting blocked in, which can happen when it’s really busy. No charge to park, no cover, and no security protocol of any sort in place at this hour.

First room you walk into has a pool table, next room has a couple of high tables with stools, and the bar is straight ahead, with maybe a 12-15 stools. All seats at the bar were taken when I got there. I got a bottled water ($2.50 + tip) and took one of the few available seats at one of the high-top tables.
