Sunday Night
I found myself in San Antonio with nothing to do on a Sunday night. Based on reviews, both here and on another site, this seemed like the best place in a mediocre town. The club was a 15 minute uber ride from my hotel on the riverwalk. The neighborhood was fine, it's on an access road right next to the highway. There was a large parking lot but it looked like a valet was out front.
This place must have been a seafood restaurant or tiki lounge or something in a previous life, right down to the giant shark hanging over the door. A cop posted out front gave my ID a quick check and a pat down. Inside, I got another pat down from a bouncer and paid the $10 cover. Once you enter the club itself, the old restaurant vibes continue. It's a strange chopped up layout. I think there were 3 stages and 2 bars but only one of the stages was in use. This is also one of those clubs where every table has a reserved sign so the only open seating is at perverts row or the bar. I was able to get a seat at the bar and my Dos Equis was $6.
For a Sunday night, the place was pretty crowded, maybe 30-40 customers and 25ish women. There was even what appeared to be a bachelor party in one corner. The girls was all white or latina and most where 6's and 7's, maybe an 8 or two. There was only one overweight girl.
