3rd Time's A Charm at the Ebony Obsidian
My third visit found me arriving at 3:30pm to cones and fences blocking the two overflow parking entrances (one off Cheshire Bridge and the other Liddell Dr) where I parked previously. I circled around and drove in the main entrance where I was motioned to stop beside a new valet tent. The building in front of me looked huge, painted black with gigantic ONYX lettering facing the main road. The valet dude remembered me. A fist-bump and $5 got me in, with directions to self-park in the adjacent overflow lot. It was thankfully paved without too much in the way of potholes, cracks, weeds, and trash. It's also in view of the valet, so seemed safe.
Next up was the intimidating door guy. He sat at a desk in the middle of a laughably large number of fence sections with Onyx covers, that I guess could be deployed for crowd control. He came out to meet me, sporting a pistol and what looked like police star patch near his waist. I held my hardware (wallet, phone, keys, etc) in my outstretched hand, with nothing in my pockets to hopefully facilitate frisking. To no avail - the frisk was still extremely thorough. After he hit my balls, I was going to ask for testicular cancer screening while he was at it. I know humor never works in these circumstances, so kept quiet, and was grateful to pass to the next waystation - the club's entry girl.
She's a cutie-pie named Nea (pronounced Nee'-yah). Friendly and welcoming, it's $10 entry. You can see her a little ways into this clip: https://www.instagram.com/p/C-g5wKuggBR/
