Expensive for where and what it is

I stopped in to Foxtail on a Friday night while in the area for work. Entered and paid a 10 buck cover to the door guy and walked over to the bar that was straight ahead. This is a classic rural Wisconsin bar. Wraparound bar on the right when you enter with 5–10 locals sitting with a few of the night’s dancers. Honestly if you didn’t look at the stage to the left, you’d think you were in a regular bar as no one was watching the show. On the left of the stage was a “smoking room” to get past the state’s smoking ban. In it was a pool table, some slots and dart boards. The door was also open, so the whole place was plenty smoky. Half the customers were in that room and only a couple were at the stage or even paying attention. The girls did three song sets on stage. They ranged from a couple tattooed goth girls that were pretty hot and fun to a few older dancers who also put on a good show. Most got nude by the third dance. I bought a cheap beer and spent time tipping at the stage. Dollars were appreciated, but when the dancers got off the stage they either disappeared to the back or huddled with regulars at the bar who weren’t spending any money. That could be because the dancers were so expensive for such a rural place. Single dances were $25 or you could buy 5 for $100 as a deal but you had to buy it up front before knowing how the dances were. A 30 minute “champagne room” was $175. I later found out both single dances and the champagne room dances are all done in the same communal room with three couches. So if more than one person is getting a dance you are watching each other. That turned out to be not such a big deal because the dances weren’t that great. I finally got the attention of an older blonde and asked for a dance. Paid the DJ the $25 and went to the room. The dancer sat me down and said “Don’t try to touch me at all they are very strict here.” She then gave me a lazy glorified air dance and asked for a tip. That was enough for me to know it was time to move on. Maybe if the dances were a bit cheaper this would be a good time, and I now know why I didn’t see many people buying dances. This is clearly much more of a place that makes money off the bar and slots and the girls are more just an afterthought.
