Lackluster visit

I stopped by Desires after many years being out of New England area. The looks the same. I sat the bar and ordered a beer. There was hot food being served off to the side. I didn’t partake so unsure of the taste. I saw an older gal come out of the dressing room and went straight to the back with the older geezer. I wanted to see what selection was around since it was Sunday. I noticed a few blondes, a possible Asian girl and rest were brunettes. Body ranged from thin to thicker than a snicker! One of the blondes (I think her make was Annie, A something- hard to tell over the music and her soft voice). She was petite and long legs. She asked for a shot which I don’t mind getting. The beer was $8 and $12 for the shot. Then she disappeared. No thank you no nothing. I stuck around and tipped a few girls I asked one of the brunettes for a dance after her stage. She didn’t come over. After an hour I cut loses and left. I was dumbfounded. I had money to spend. I had showered and was not even dressed inappropriately. Maybe they just didn’t want to work. Any idea what happened? Is this common?
