Wednesday afternoon
I visited Jet Strip on Wednesday July 31, 2024 in the afternoon between about 1:15 and 2:45. This club is a bit far from my home for a day trip but I was coming back by here from a longer trip and took the opportunity to make this visit. The club is on a commercial street not far from the LA airport and from SoFi stadium. It has free self parking but the lot is not particularly large. Entering the afternoon cover was $6. Paid with a 20 and was given change in 1’s. No security stuff. A sign said no cell phone use within the club, one should go outside to the smoking patio to use your phone. Other signs had a long list of dress code which I didn’t read. Then through a turnstile into the club.
Sort of a medium size venue. Entrance in middle of one long size of the rectangular building. To the right of the entrance is the non-alcohol bar. Access from this is the stage kind of an odd shape sort of a capital “T” with 2 poles on the cross bar at the rear and one on the stem of the “T” in the front. Mirror in back of the stage and to one side a curtain through which the dancer makes her entrance. Oddly the back of the stage was at a normal stage height but the front part was recessed down to floor level behind an edge that was at the full height. Maybe 20 chairs around the rail. Maybe 20 or so small tables with 2 or 3 chairs back from the stage. Some flashing lights. A few screens and unusual for a club, a clock. Men’s room to the right of the stage, small but adequate. Next to it was the door to the outdoor smoking patio. I only caught a glimpse through this but it seemed nice. Music was eclectic and not super loud. There were food menus on the tables, usual bar food type stuff nothing over $10. No waitress came around to push drinks. When I paid for a 15 min room they included a drink for free, I just had a generic bottled water. So don’t know about drink prices.
There were about a dozen customers, seemed mostly older guys at this time. About 10 dancers generally fit and in their 20’s I would say. Mostly white and maybe one oriental. The stage was occupied about half of the time. When there was activity of the stage the dancer usually got nude early in the song and put on a good show some with decent pole work. Some minor make it rain from the few customers at the rail. A dancer came where I was sitting at a table and asked if she could sit with me. Then despite there being empty chairs she sat on my lap. This club claims to be the “friendliest in LA” so maybe this was a sign of that? Her hands were active, mussing my hair etc. She claimed to be a recent college graduate getting ready for grad school which seemed plausible based on our conversation. We had an enjoyable conversation for about 15 minutes or so before the topic of lap dances came up. Single song dances are $30 topless or $40 nude. The single song dance area is to the left of the stage but I didn’t see it. Timed nude dances are $175 for 15 minutes or somewhere around $300 for 30 min. Paid for 15 min to a woman at the bar who then took us to the room and started the time, coming back to the outside of the room after time was up and announcing same. The room was rather large with bench seating and table and closed with a door. Also a one way window where you could see out into the main room of the club but was just a mirror from the club side. She immediately got nude and began the lap dance. A solid two way touch dance but nothing hinting at extra. Enjoyable, tipped her an extra $40.
