The Dominican Dance Count
This place has been described before but here goes: Redisential neighborhood. Safe parking on side street. Two entrances, I typically use the rear (heh). There a bar that is divided by a small stage in the middle big enough for 2-3 dancers. Up the stair, through the virtually unused seating area, and to the left is the communal dance room. 4-5 seats. No real privacy.
Now, I’ve had a lot of good times here. It’s probably one of my top three spots because it’s laid back, the dancers are cool, and the drinks are reasonable ($7 for a beer).
Dances are $20/song, and the length varies by dancer. In fact I will go so far as to say by the NATIONALITY of the dancer. The Brazilians are great. A song could last anywhere from 3-6 minutes. Lately, there have been some Dominicans who are charging you for a song it seems every minute or LESS. They come on strong and look great, but once it’s time to square up, you’re going to be in for a surprise.
