The Midas Touch

Gold Club is in Milwaukie, not really Portland, but just a little bit outside. So, it's a bit of a drive from the main parts of Portland, depending on where you're coming from. After reading some other reviews, I decided to make a visit especially since a dancer I follow on social media was working.

The club is set back pretty far from the road with a lot of parking in front. When you walk in, there's a small antechamber with a second door leading into the main establishment. The main room is quite large and the bar feels like a trek to get to as you weave past the pool table and a few tables placed out on the floor. There are two stages, neither of which was in use when I went. In fact, at first look, I couldn't see any dancers at all. After my eyes adjusted to the dim light, I noticed a couple sitting at tables with what seemed like regulars and the dancer I was looking for hanging out at the bar.

I got a drink (i think it was maybe $5) and sat next to her. After some brief chatting, including following her out to the smoking area where I discovered the other two dancers on shift hanging out (and looking a little worse for wear in the heat or maybe just naturally) she let me know that dances were $40/1 or I could do the "15 mins room" for $150. Coming from Portland 3/$100 prices, 15 mins seemed like a steal.
