yes, times have changed but....

Visited HK on a Friday in February 2024. Vibe seems a little different. Not quite as busy as it used to be - prob due to an increase in prices. Been seeing some reviews of demanding women and ultra-pushy waiters but I did not experience this a lot. Women do ask you to buy a drink often when they are sitting with you, and threaten to leave, but that is par for the course and also depends on the girl you are with. Waiters do ask for tips and for you to buy constant drinks, but I wave my hand "no", and they seem to understand, although I rolled by myself last time. The craziness/crowdedness did not seem to occur until 11-12pm. For this reason, I like Friday better than Saturday. Saturday is always busier so timing Friday before the crowd arrives, is big. I felt like the quality of girls was the norm, ranging the full spectrum, but it did seem overall, emptier. I think this is due to the pretty big increase in prices for hotel room and the girl. Definitely burning a deeper hole in my pocket. Entering and exiting TJ was the same as before. No issues. Bring passport and you can park at Jack in the Box or a private lot if you are just staying for 4-8 hours.

In terms of my modus operandi, I pick a girl I like and try to sit with her at the most private table possible. Some of the higher tables work well and are more private. Seeing if the girl can speak English (my spanish is bad, although google translate works), and seeing if the girl is friendly, will tell you a lot about the girl. You can also ask her what she does, if you like her a lot, and don't want a lemon.

I did notice an attitude change in some of the girls. Not sure if this is the entitlement that some have been commenting about. Some of the girls do not like what they are doing, and are purely there to make as much money as they can. They will lie to you and tell you what you want to hear. It's also kind of sad b/c many of them have babies they are supporting.
