The Good Ole Days Were Better

Twenty-five years ago I visited Providence frequently, and became familiar with most of the strip clubs. One of my favorites at the time was Club Fantasies. Club Fantasies then was a laid back club. It had many varied dancers, for all tastes. Most had interesting stories. I usually fell in lust with one of the dancers. Drink and dance prices were very competitive with the other clubs in the city. When I left the club, I reflected on a good time, and felt that I received good value for the dollars I spent.

But my travel patterns changed and I rarely these days have the opportunity for a visit to a Providence strip club.

On a recent Monday night I had an evening dinner meeting in Newport, and decided to make a detour on the route home at Club Fantasies. Finding it was a bit of a challenge because of construction detours. Entering, I was waived through a metal detector (and set it off, but wasn’t searched). Inside, I noticed that significant investment had been made in seating and lighting. It definitely had more of a “gentleman’s club” atmosphere about than the last time I visited it.
