Relaxed, good ole DV8

Visited DV8 on a recent rainy, (it is Portland after all), Sunday evening. I figured there is no better way to escape the rain than checking out some T and A.

DV8 is a very laidback dive bar with some typically fine dancers. Parking lot is in the back and is fairly small but there are normally spots available. If the lot if full you can park on the street in the neighborhood. Met by a bouncer near the front door who I think checked my ID, honestly can’t remember. No cover charge. As you enter is quite dimly lit but not too dark. There are two pool tables that seem to get a fair amount of play. There is also some video gambling machines if that’s you thing. The main “room” has a large rectangular pit type stage with a pole and seats around three sides. There is also a smaller square pit stage in the back also with a pole. Main room has a bar and various tables and chairs spread around. Overall it’s a smallish club. Private dance area is in the back where there are curtained off cubicles.

Bar has some nice local beers on tap which is my normal drink of choice. Beers are $6-7. Mixed drinks are typically $10-13. Bar staff is friendly and always happy to change out bigger bills for ones.
