Monday Afternoon

Have been to the Playhouse Lounge quite a few times, but always at night. Reviews here indicate that the day shift is unquestionably the way to go, so I had high hopes for my Monday off from work.

Arrived at around 3 PM. Pink building just off of your run-of-the-mill NJ two lane highway. It was a hot sunny day, so stepping into the dark room took my eyes a bit of time to adjust. Long, rectangular bar that was sparsely populated when I walked in, but quickly filled up with patrons between 3-3:30. Bartender was a cute blonde, but not very personable.

Having read the reviews here I was expecting an amazing lineup, but at least on this particular Monday this just wasn’t the case. The two dancers that got up were a middle aged no-thanks, and then Kiara (who is here and lurking EVERY time I’m in). Jolie was there at the end of the bar on her phone, and I got excited when she finally stood up to make the rounds, but she didn’t make it past the first guy she approached before he quickly took her to the back.
