Back after almost 10 years

First time TJ monger in quite a while. I have visited TJ before many times - but that was almost 10 years ago. Adelitas was the place to be back then and I loved visiting it. I was sad to hear that it had closed down. Anyway, visited HK last week while on a trip to SoCal. I had 6 to 8 hours to kill in the evening. The experience of getting to HK from the US side was about the same - drove to San Ysidro and parked in the closest lot I could find. Walked over through PedEast - nobody checking for any passports, just walked right through.I did however take the HK shuttle which is very convenient, instead of the taxis I used to take (for $5 I remember back then).

Got dropped off right in front of HK. Walked in, and settled down. The place was pretty busy - lots of girls - however I was quite disappointed by the quality. I had fond memories of the Adelitas girls - maybe its been so long since I've been here that I had built up the expectations in my mind - anyway, I sat down for a couple of beers. Eventually, my eyes met one girl I had been watching in particular who was just sitting there bored - she came over and we got chatting - seemed pretty young (22 she said) her English was ok but she seemed eager - I agreed to buy a drink for her, waiter came back with a glass of wine - turns out it was $30 - did not realize it was so expensive now. And she did not even finish it all.

After another beer for me, when she asked about Arriba I said sure. Agreed to $120 and said lets go. Headed to the room. Another $40 for the room. Man thats expensive again! She was really good though - knew how to take it a notch up and was fully into it - and willing to let me lead. Came back to HK after concluding our business and had another beer while watching the scene. Spoke to a couple of additional girls, but nothing caught my attention, and I was afraid I was spent at this point. Wasn't sure I wanted to spend another $120+$40 for a half hearted attempt. Headed back to SD and the trip back was a non-event. No lines at the pedestrian line so the entry back was pretty quick.

All in all it was a good trip - but I was surprised how much more expensive it has become. I remember spending about half back then for such a trip.

I will be visiting next month again - I hear there are some newer clubs as well that may be worth looking at. Will defnitely explore some more and report back.
