New name, same game
On Saturday I checked out The O St. Louis (most recently known as Dawg Pound and PT’s Brooklyn before that). I arrived around 1am. There was $20 parking available in the club’s lot or limited street parking available along 3rd street or Jefferson nearby. There are multiple security guards outside of the club and they pat you down and scan your id before letting you inside. Cover charge was $20.
The layout didn’t change much from the previous Dawg pound set up. Still two levels. More room and most of the action takes place on the first level. The only major difference is the area were the main bar used to be in the center of the club has been replaced by a large stage with a long pole that extends up to the second level. There are a couple of satellite mini stages along the wall on the first level. Limited seating. There are a few tables on the first level and benches along the wall both of which are sold sections with bottle service when the club gets crowded.
As is the case with the east side there isn’t a lot of action until late. When I arrived around 1 there weren’t many dancers out on the floor initially. I got seat at one of the tables and a very pretty waitress came over and took my drink order. Things didn’t really start to pick up until around 2am. At that point there were 20+ dancers out on the floor. The majority of the dancers were on or around the huge main stage. All the dancers were black and most were thick. They definitely had some nice eye candy. There majority of the action revolved around the main stage where groups would make it rain singles on the groups of dancers on the stage.
