DDTR - it’s old, it’s shabby, it delivers good value

DDTR has been reviewed endlessly, and the physical plant has not changed since Carter was president. Located on a main drag in Lakewood, the entrance is in the back so at least you don’t have to worry about your pastor seeing you as you walk in. The parking lot is shabby, and often there is broken glass.

You enter and as always are temporarily blinded as your eyes adjust to the darkness. The door charge is either $20 or 25 during the day, and includes a bottle of water. Yay. The dance floor is not typical Jersey, but rather there is a runway and at one end is the bar.

On the day I was there there were four girls working, Asia, Stevie, Sabrina, Mercedes and Liz. I went because it was supposed to be a specials day, with discounted VIPs. Apparently that only applied to the night shift, even though it didn’t say that anywhere on their IG page. Whatever. You’re not going to find 10s here, but there are enough 6’s and 7’s to make your eyes happy.
