Travelers to Cincinnati quickly realize the relative paucity of SC options for a city of its size .If you are carless and staying in downtown Cincinnati, the Brass Ass and its (“step”? “half?”) sister club, the Brass Bull, which are diagonally across from each other on a quiet, safe-looking street in Newport directly across the Ohio River from downtown (probably a $14-17 Uber ride) probably make the most sense logistically. But that’s not saying much. If I had a car and the time, I’d drive down to Pussycat Lounge in Louisville for real fun, just like, when I’m working or staying anywhere near Greater Boston or Cape Cod, I’m wheeling the rental car over to Providence.

It's important to state that Brass Bull remains open, even though it hasn’t had a published review in seven years. There was a recent discussion thread about why some clubs don’t have many reviews. Many of the suppositions offered probably apply here. Maybe the region doesn’t have many active TUSCL members because SCs just aren’t that prevalent. Most certainly, the Brass Bull sucks. So does the Brass Ass, but it sucks somewhat less than the Brass Bull.

“derekfromatlanta” published an excellent combined review of the BA and BB back in April, 2022. It is listed under BA. All of the factual observations in that review appear to be accurate, as far as the physical layout and operation of the two clubs. All I can say, however, is that derek’s review suggested opportunities for fun, or at least potential opportunities for fun, which I did not see any hint of during two separate visits to each club three months apart. Could be luck of the draw, of course, or it could be a serious decline over the past two years.
