Wednesday @ The Lodge, Avoid Olivia

I visited The Lodge on a Wednesday lunch hour in March. It was my fourth time there. I really like the relaxed setting, and the conversation that usually precedes dance requests. There was a wide variety of dancers in their 20s - 40s. Lisa was a fantastic waitress. She was thoughtful, asked what type of dancers I was interested it, and even sent a few over to my table that she thought would be a good fit for me.

That said, even she couldn’t prevent Olivia (I think that’s her name) from coming over. Olivia opened with a line like “I know you came by just to see me,” sat down, then promptly asked “if you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be?” Her approach felt very forced and she was not a good conversationalist. Lisa and me had a good laugh about it after Olivia moved on.

I did ultimately get a few dances, and had a bit of a bummer experience with one dancer…..I was feeling her vibe when she sat down at my table and agreed to 5 dances at $25 per dance. I was counting the songs in my head as she danced and she definitely only danced for 3 songs then claimed it was 5. I didn’t argue with her and just moved on. I won’t be getting any more dances from her. Otherwise it was a good visit. I’ll be back again.
