Still the Standard of NYC
Went on a Thursday night very late to FD Midtown. The place has generally diminished in quality a little bit from before COVID, but the space is clean, the staff are attentive, and I didn't find the lighting or DJ to be annoying at all. Generally the girls and the patrons all tend to be a little more upscale (it is Manhattan after all) - the seat / main seating area are a little tight but otherwise there are 3 stages and plenty of room for patrons to mingle with dancers.
The dancers are attractive - they are of all different ethnicities and generally willing to approach you. But I don't think I saw a dancer that was worse than a solid 7, and many are attractive with fun personalities. What I appreciated was that most would take no for an answer and leave you alone if you weren't interested. I had great dances with Hannah, Casey, and Julie who are there weekday nights. Most are good conversationalists - like most NY strip clubs, there are a lot of Latino and Eastern European dancers.
Unsurprisingly, prices were kind of expensive (it's Manhattan after all), and I dislike that there is no intermediate private room. It's either a regular $20 dance or you do the VIP room for $800 for an hour, with no in between. Drinks are pricey - beers were $15, shots are closer to $20. And cover at this hour was $20 (with a mandatory coat check of another $3). Not all that surprising / in-line with what you would expect from Manhattan clubs, but something to be aware of nonetheless.
