Couples Night Out at Rick's

Went to Rick's a couple months back and thought I would share my thoughts. Keep in mind I am not a regular at strip clubs in the slightest, and the first time I have gone with a significant other. However, I think I can be of value to anyone who is thinking about going in the future (especially as a couple).

So, wife and I arrived after a late dinner on a Friday in Manhattan (we were on a weekend trip), probably around 11pm. This place is directly next door to another club, so don't get them mixed up. Bouncers seemed normal, not overly friendly but respectful and professional. No line or anything, so we were quickly escorted into the club after coat check and cover charge. The club itself was clean and nice enough, but rather small and lacked any kind of club/party atmosphere. There was a stage on the left, a bar on the back wall, and a bunch of chairs, tables, and a long couch on the opposite end to the stage. We went to the bar and ordered a drink, just to look around and get our bearings. For the time we were there (from 11-2ish), there weren't many women on the stage, and the energy was pretty low. However, the clientele was respectful, non-threatening, and maybe even a little nerdier than I expected (no thugs, people getting too rowdy, etc.). My girlfriend remarked how safe she felt given the environment and what she was expecting.

From my estimation there were about 15-20 dancers on the floor and stage at any given time (maybe less than that earlier in the evening but quickly ramped up). The dancers were pretty attractive for the most part, with a decent mix of ethnicities. From my memory it was probably 80% white dancers, with a few asian, black and hispanic each mixed in. There was definitely someone for everyone's taste. Their demeanour varied, some more friendly than others, but hard to tell considering we were a couple and I imagine some of the dancers thought they had a better chance with single guys. We definitely had to go out of our way to make eye contact and introduce ourselves to dancers if we wanted anything.
