Hanging on, maybe brighter days ahead.

Made my first trip back to the Hugger in over a year. Was surprised driving in how full the parking lots were at various Kokomo businesses (compared to prior visits). Asked a dancer about this and she said that lots of factory jobs seem to be coming back to Kokomo. In any event, pulled in on a Saturday at 7 and the Hugger parking lot was about 1/3rd full. It was dark outside so did not have to adjust eyes when you come in to the darkness.

Cover was $5 and the same doorman that’s been there since my first visit to the Hugger back in ‘08. I got a bottled water and rum and coke which came out to $12 (I think this was $10 on my last visit). Dances are still $10 with the usual dollar tip request after a girl gets done with her set. There was very little tipping on stage on this trip compared to past ones.

Overall, I would give the dancers a 5/10. There were some of the usual dancers there (Simone and the Russian girl), whose looks have faded but were still doing dances almost nonstop. Tonight at least, the dancers seemed to be all white and except for Simone were relatively thin, but not “hot”, just plain I would say. The best dancer in there was probably a 6/10, so I did not feel compelled to get any dances.
