Visited: Saturday Evening

This review is based on two visits, 1/6/24 and 1/13/24, both Saturday nights, starting at about 8pm.

I've been visiting Mons since 1990. In other words, since the current dancers' grandmothers were stripping at Mons. Mons is now a pale ghost of what it once was: one of the top lap dance clubs in the U.S. It's now basically a tourist trap surviving on its old reputation. I only visited for nostalgic purposes (with two different golf buddies on the two different nights).

First the club: Small with a small parking lot - not a problem except at peak hours, which seem to be like 10pm to about 1am on weekends. Safe neighborhood. Good security (more on that below). The club is one room with the dance floor at bar height in the center of the room. Chairs around three sides. Dressing room behind the bar. Other seating to the left in front of lap dance booths which have curtains. A long banquette on the right in front of other lap dance booths which face the outside wall. The lap dance rooms are clean and comfortable. The restrooms (very basic - no partition around the toilet! - but clean) to the right as you enter. Music by juke box - each girl picks her own music. Always one girl dancing, more - maybe three - as things get busy. Overall the club is clean and comfortable. Bouncers, door girl, and drink girl are polite and friendly. BTW: since the recent incident in which a shooter tried to enter the club, apparently with the intention of firing at the customers and girls, there's very good security. Of course, security was good even before the shooter because the alert security guy spotted him and took him out before he got into the club. That guy is a hero.

No alcohol. Soft drinks are $7 or $8?... say $10 with the tip. Officially the club is not BYOB, but you can bring in single shot bottles or a small hip flask if you are discreet. There's now also a bar diagonally across Dale Mabry from Mons. If you are hand stamped, you can step out and cross Dale Mabry (be very careful!) and get a drink at the bar or sit outside the club for a smoke.

Entrance fee: I arrived just before 8pm, so the entrance fee was $12. I believe it's $25 at night. Get your hand stamped.
