Understaffed Night in Madison

A friend who's also a club aficionado and I happened to be in Madison a few weekends back for a convention. We both favor full-nude clubs when available, so we decided to check out this club, located on the extreme west side of Madison. It's on a state highway in the middle of nowhere but it is well-marked, so you won't miss it even at night. We arrived there a little before midnight on a Friday night.

Past the entryway, the club's layout is one big room, with the T-shaped stage in the front, the bar in the back, a raised VIP area to the left as you face the stage, and the private dance areas to the far right. The stage had a pole on each arm and what looked like a clear-glass shower room in the back of the junction; it wasn't used in this manner while we were there, though. Plenty of seating was available around the stage, though my friend and I mostly sat at two-person table. 2-3 dancers were up on stage at a time and would rotate positions in between songs so that each had a turn at the featured front arm. Not all of the dancers went full nude on stage, but many did. Both admission and (non-alcoholic) drink prices were typical.

The problem with this visit was that the club seemed seriously understaffed on dancers. (There may have also been some back room problems, as the floor manager looked quite harried.) I only counted about 10 different dancers, and not all of them came out even when the club did an hourly dance special. (It's the typical routine of all the dancers parading out and picking up patrons in the seating for a 2-for-1 special.) That was nowhere near enough for a sizable club that was about 2/3 full when we arrived and had a bunch more people come in 30-45 minutes later; given the time and business level, I would have expected double that many dancers or more. The dancers were mostly white and mostly very average, too. One did catch my interest - an energetic, short-haired blonde - but I never could get her attention to even ask about dances, and only one dancer ever even tried to come to our table. The situation seemed like it was getting worse rather than improving, so we only stayed an hour or so and left without getting any dances.
