sinclair's Review
This is a composite review of a few visits on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. I probably would not have kept returning if I wasn’t working so close by. The parking lot for the Gentleman Club (years before known as Bar Le Gentleman) is tight and gets packed at night, so some people just end up parking along the side of Rue Saint-Cesaire. In the evening there is a $5 cover charge to get inside. The stage is on the right side of the room with a full wall of mirrors behind it. The stage is a peninsula out into the seating area with one pole that is about twenty feet tall. There is a fashionable wooden bar on the left side of the room. All beer is from Molson Coors. No Budweiser or Labatt products are stocked. A bottle of Coors Light was $8. On a Friday night visit, an attractive blonde bartender with a big tattoo on her right forearm tried to scam me. Her name is Caro. She tried to charge me $10 for a Coors Light. I cussed her out in Québécois French and took my business to the other bartenders who were much more honest and friendly. Buckets of domestic beers are six for $35-40. Buckets of imported beers are five for $35-40. I bought one dancer a cocktail, which came out to $9. I bought a group of customers and strippers some sourpuss shots, which were only $5 each. The ATM charged a $16 fee on a $400 withdrawal.
There are typically thirteen to sixteen dancers on weekend nights. About a third of the dancers are 7’s to 9’s. Another third are 5’s and 6’s and possibly doable after a few beers. The bottom third are overweight or too old. Generally a couple of the girls will be of African descent, but most will be white Québécois girls. I had a thick Haitian girl attach to me like a barnacle on my first visit. She just wouldn’t accept me telling her, “I’m not interested.” All dancers were tattooed except for a blonde with DD cups. The better looking dancers will be in high demand and may need to be approached. Generally, only the bottom half of the crew will be cold calling customers. The music is mostly American hip hop, despite everyone speaking French. The clientele was mostly groups of young guys or mixed groups of guys, girls, and couples. If you are over 45, you might be out of place during the night shift.
If you are looking for a stage show and pole tricks, you will be disappointed at the Gentleman Club. The stage was almost always empty. They didn’t even try to get entertainers on stage until after 23:00. On the contrary, the cabins (VIP rooms) are constantly busy. The cabins have a closing door, a padded bench, and are stocked with paper towels and disinfectant. There are about a dozen cabins located in a hallway behind the back wall of the floorplan. Lap dances are $20 per song. There is little point buying private dances here unless it is a warm-up for extras. The women will just upsell you to do extras the whole time if you come in here thinking this place is like a Montreal strip club. The big money for the entertainers is in turning tricks. This establishment is more like a brothel than a strip club. All dancers seem to have different menus. A big racked blonde wanted $300 for a full service oil change. During a slow Saturday afternoon, a pothead black dancer, whom I did not find too attractive, was willing to offer the same oil change for $220. She also offered a slurpee for $120 or a tug for $80. With these rates, you are expected to cum within a specified number of songs (usually three), or the women will expect more money, like $100 for every song you go over. Even if you normally bust quick, you might last a lot longer here because the women are stretched out. I would guess the more attractive women might service a dozen or so guys per shift. Some of the ladies will offer deals like $500 for a half hour or $1,000 for a full hour in a cabin. You get to put as many shots on goal as you like with those options.
