ID scanned and picture taken

This used to be my go to spot but it seems over the past year but my last few visits here has ended in a strikeout. This visit was a on a Thursday night, I arrived around 8:30. I usually visit only on Thursdays so I know what to expect basically. This experience was a bit different and made me reconsider this place. When I walked in the security told me cover as usual and I paid the counter girl. Then he checks me with the metal detector, which is fairly normal at this place. After that he asks me for my id and I hand it over. Then he asks me to take a step to the right. I didn’t understand and he repeated himself. He puts my ID into this machine that’s situated next to the entrance and asks me to stand still so they can take a picture. WTF is that? I didn’t even realize until the last second that’s what was happening. I already had a few drinks at Oz and I’ve been to DD dozens of time without any issues. I ask him what was that and he replies new Florida law; I actually looked the law up and it doesn’t say anything about capturing pictures just scanning IDs. Why would anyone want to have a picture taken of themselves matching to their ID while going to a strip club??? Either way it made me feel uncomfortable and I probably won’t go back if that’s how they’re operating now.

No need to describe the venue so I’ll just describe my experience. Beers and drinks are super cheap before 9pm like 3-4$ then are about $7 for a beer after that. There was about 12 dancers at that time which is fairly normal as most of the better girls start coming in around 9pm or later. The girls there were some recognizable faces and a few new ones. None really peaked my interest at all so I just hung at the bar waiting for my buddy to arrive. This place is about 65% cuban, 25% white and 10% black. In my opinion the quality of girls has seemed to go downhill in the last 6 months. Maybe it’s because the season is slow or the girls are moving to some of the other clubs in the area. I’ve actually seen some of the better girls that used to work here over at Oz and the new Reign. Overall the summary on the dancers was a couple 7s maybe one 8, all the rest fell at 6 or below. I really wasn’t impressed nor had any desire to go with them. Also the better looking ones I’ve already experienced before so keep that in mind as to why I wasn’t interested.

Another reason why I’m not too hot on this place anymore is the sheer lack of customers. Almost every time I’ve been in the last couple months there were only about 5-8 customers in the whole place. This leads to subpar girls constantly harassing you as they have no other choices. This is definitely a down side of this club especially compared to Oz which is more of a party atmosphere; this is more of a locals and regulars club especially before 10:30-11pm. You’ll see a a lot of familiar if you come here often enough.
