A Solid Afternoon Without Surprises

This review is a bit of an amalgamation of 2-3 recent visits over the past 2 months--all on Wednesday afternoons. While I had taken a break from Shotgun Willie's for a while, it was always a decent option for the occasional afternoon visit. I just got sick of reeking of smoke every time I left, being that it has a cigar bar license and one of the few places left in Colorado where people can smoke inside. Be that as it may, a few friends and I started meeting up there again every few Wednesdays, and I really can't complain about spending a few hours a month here. It's clean, the staff is friendly (not just the talent), and the beers are a decent price. Afternoon cover is only $3, and I think I've spent from $6 for "domestic" to maybe $8 for a Corona. I'm not sure if prices go up later in the evening. I've never paid to park, and the building is surrounded by other parking lots, so it wouldn't make sense if they did charge.

There are at least six elevated stages on the floor, with maybe a couple more in the VIP areas, but those are never occupied during the day. Usually, there are only 2-3 stages running before 8pm, which is about when I head out. With the 2-3 stages operating, there tend to be enough girls to allow for at least three 3-song sets before repetition. The talent is usually a good mix of ethnicities, decoration (tattoos), personalities, and breast sizes, and I can't recall ever seeing a dancer that would be considered overly "heavy". "Private" dance prices are posted at $35 each, and usually take place in an elevated area to the right of the entrance when you walk in. It is an area open to the club, and is basically 2 rows of mini booths with small dividers that face each other. I have also had dancers take me to the booth tables that surround the club during less crowded times. There are spendier VIP areas in the back that I have toured, but never experienced, so I don't know the rates. The nice thing about an afternoon trip is the lack of aggressive hustle or upsell.

There is a dancer who is particularly fun, depending on what your definition of the word is. I think she's straight-up crazy, or at least on something EVERY TIME I see her. Late 20s/early 30s, white, big naturals, talks a mile a minute and will talk your ear off while she chains smokes at your table with you. The crazy part is when I broke down and got a private dance, mostly for the curiosity. We get to the dance spot and she promptly gives out the instructions as she gets on your lap and faces you, and begins the so-called dance. "Put your left hand on my thigh, where they can see it. Good. Now put this hand on my throat and choke me a little. A little tighter. Now you can grab my left tit with your right hand when I turn around. Now back to my throat..." All the while she's doing a decent contact dance. Nothing earth-shattering, but an OK dance with the random quick squeeze on the junk now and then. One dance, a $5 tip and we call it good. I'm not gonna name names, but she shares hers with a certain street-referencing Beatles song.
