Minks - worth a visit, low risk, lots of potential.

So. I was looking to hit a few places in LV when last there (just got back) and Deja Vu is temporarily closed, which was my first pick, so I hit Minks instead. It looked like the more frugal option over a bunch of the other clubs, and being as I had a novice with me, I didn't want to tackle Sapphire or something like that.

Got the pass from the website for $10 of the $20 cover, and went in and picked up a mandatory $11 beer. Not sure how they'd enforce the 1 drink minimum as you could easily just walk past the bar and sit somewhere there was an existing empty, then when a waitress finally came by (they were few and far between) point at it and say, 'nah, good right now'...then toss the empty. BUT...I wasn't opposed to a 1 drink, so we picked up the beer....problem solved. Club is pretty standard dance club with a 'sports bar' corner. Very small chairs around very small tables, but comfortable enough. Fairly well lit for a club, but pretty standard strip club design with a bar as you come in and a few waitresses wandering around. Other than the bouncer at the door taking cover, I didn't really see any goons policing the general area. One guy by the VIP taking payments and I did see another non tux guy who seemed to be running around doing....something? Penguin in the toilet, so grab a single for your wad of paper towels you didn't need help with and a mint like your grandma used to keep in her purse. I dislike the whole dude in the bathroom thing....was sad to see it at this smaller club.

I wasn't accosted by anyone when I came in. In fact, when I got to the bar, I sidled up to a girl who was sitting there and I said 'Hi', and she said I could sit anywhere and pointed out some seats. I figured this would lead to the 'buy me a drink' or 'wanna dance' or at least her coming and hovering over me while I tried to drink said beer...but nope, we walked over to the table, sat and were fine....pleasant surprise.
