1st club visit in Houston wasn't bad... but not great

Came here a few weeks ago on a business trip. Fresh off my flight, I stopped by this one since it was across the street of my dinner restaurant. I was torn between polekatz, which is next door and this one, but I'm not mad at my decision at the end.

Cover was $17, a little steep but whatever. After paying, I'm basically forced by the bouncer to choose a bar or table before I even enter. Normally I like choosing my own space once I get a lay of the land for my best view, but I end up taking a table. I probably could have switched after being seated since there were only a few other parties in there with me, but I wasn't mad at what I ended up with.

Once you enter, you have the "private" dance area immediately to the left, the bar straight ahead of the left, and the stage to the right. In-between and down a few steps are most of the tables. Additional vip rooms, either downstairs or upstairs, are down a hall next to the "private" area. I keep using quotes because it really isn't private: a well lit square room with couches along the perimeter. The entrance is an open doorway with everyone able to look inside. Might be a waste, but at $20 a dance it isn't bad. Definitely more cost effective than the champagne room (downstairs, at least $500 per hour) or vip (upstairs, at least $1000 per hour).

Women were of different races and most were mids, but there were a couple high 7-8s. One in particular was Bambi. Along with the looks, she can actually hold a conversation. After shooing other girls away throughout the night, I ended up getting some dances with her. Unfortunately there was the upsell in the back room, attempting to get me to drop more cash for more "fun" in the vip areas. That's a turn off for me, despite being tempting, but I wasn't planning on spending all that, nor did I believe the amount of additional "fun" I would have, nor did I have the energy to stay out for another hour.

I left the club after that. Along with a few $7 beers and some tipping on stage, the damage was less than $200. I would return but would rather try other clubs in the area first.
