The Kalamazoo Deja Vu is located in a large two story building that it shares with its sister club, Lil Darlings. The clubs have separate entrances, maybe only 20 feet between the separate entrances. The Deja Vu side features nude dancers and it does not sell alcohol (state law). In contrast, the Lil Darlings side does sell alcohol and, in compliance with state law, it features topless, not nude, dancers. Customers pay an entry fee, typically in the $15 dollar price range, depending on the day, that allow entry to both clubs. Many customers get a drink in the Lil Darlings side and then amble over to the Deja Vu side for nude dancers.

A few more details about the club. It is located on a pie shaped piece of land in a light industrial zone on the NW side of Kalamazoo, at the intersection of Douglas Avenue and Ravine Road. There is a poorly designed parking lot (yes, parking lots can be poorly designed especially when they are pie shaped!). Overflow parking is available. The main parking lot is well lit and the area generally feels safe.

I visited the Vu on a Friday evening. I counted about a dozen dancers, mostly white but with a few AA and Latina dancers. About 1/3 of the dancers were larger overweight women. The others were at least moderately attractive. All of the dancers performed 2-3 song sets on the main stage. This stage is heart shaped and is equipped with three stripper poles. On week days, the club is less crowded and the number of dancers are pretty limited so they perfrom only 2-3 songs on the main stage before circulating to the audience. However, on weekend nights, the dancers leave the main stage and also perform on two smaller satellite stages. This means that on weekend nights when the three stage rotation is going, that a dancer will be performing for six or more songs, two on each of the three stages. Unfortunately, the songs are typically truncated at about 2.5 minutes. All of the dancers start on the main stage with stripper attire but performed nude by the end of their set on the main stage. They then performed nude on the satellite stage. On the Friday night that I visited, wo of the dancers were sporting jeweled butt plugs that they were more than willing to show off when they were nude.
