I like what they did with the place
Having gone to Blue Angel a number of times I decided to check out the new club at that location 103rd Street.
The first thing I noticed was that there were two entrance signs on the door, one in english and the other in spanish. You walk in, follow the faux corridor to your right, where you pay the entry fee (went at around noon there was no fee). Here you turn left and face a horseshoe shaped bar. To your right is the entrance to the VIP area. My trip back there later after several twists and turns, were the standard semi private multiple alcove set up with floor to ceiling dividers. To your left is a dance platform running through the center of the room with seating areas around it.
The bartender was apologetic when I arrived around 12:30 and said the there were no dancers in yet, but they would be there. In the mean time he asked me what music I wanted to hear and adjusted the music. I ordered a whiskey neat ($8, posted 2 drink minimum) and sat at the bar and waited. The dancers did arrive around 1:15 (2 whiskeys later). The first one out came directly over to me and introduced herself. Pleasant and attractive (6), she is Cuban and her English was barely better than my Spanish. But once that was clear she brought out her cell phone to translate our conversation. We did end up going back to the VIP for 4 songs ($40 per song). She was very energetic and enjoyable.
In summary, it is a nice set up clean and friendly. If I am out that way again I would stop by for a visit.
