I made a recent visit to Babe's to check out their recent remodel. They apparently wanted it to look more like a swanky Scottsdale lounge than a strip club, it's much darker and there is a lot more leather (in the seating along the walls as well as padding on the walls). They basically cut the main stage in half, with the additional room they added a VIP section in the back of the club, although what makes it a VIP section beyond the velvet rope separating it from the main area is beyond me as it offers no privacy what-so-ever (nobody was using it either which makes me think it may be a waste of space as many people didn't have a place to sit and get dances). With the main stage being cut in half there is also now only one dancer on the main stage at a time, not a good change IMO as I would prefer seeing 2 at a time and because there is obviously much less room to sit stageside. They've still got a small stage near the bar but they removed the cage and added a pole to it instead, I highly doubt many pole tricks can be done on it though as it is still very small and it would no doubt be very easy for a dancer to kick somebody in the head. The leather seating along the walls are nice but the cupholders are much too shallow (and thus drinks are very easily knocked over) and why they added room for an ash tray is a bit puzzling (as smoking will not be allowed come May thanks to the recent passing of the AZ smoking ban). The girls are still for the most part very attractive, although not nearly as attractive as they were in years past which is making it harder and harder to overlook the latex over the nipples, the full bikini bottoms, the high cover charge and the tame dances. Speaking of the dances, still handsdown the worst in town. I will give them some credit though in that they got rid of the valet parking, those reserved spots were always empty anyways so I didn't see the point of it. Overall, nice club if you're just wanting hang out and get a couple of drinks while checking out some attractive topless dancers, or if you're looking for a non-threatening place to take a female, but there are honestly several better clubs in town.
